Hi I'm Jess C, the founder and creator behind Jess C Shells. Here's a little backstory on how I got to where I am now. For as long as I can remember, I've dreamed of being an artist and using my creativity for something meaningful. But like many, I let practical expectations steer me elsewhere, and I chose a career in the medical field instead. Before this chapter, I spent over a decade working as a registered nurse in my home state of Arkansas, a role that shaped my life but also led me to seek more balance and peace.
That search for something deeper led my boyfriend and I to hit the road full time in a RV and explore what more life had to offer.
For over a year, we traveled across 18 states, waking up to mountains, forests, deserts, and coastlines. Living so freely in nature really changed me. It reminded me how healing it is to slow down, wander, and find beauty in simple things.
That adventure eventually brought us to Delray Beach, Florida in 2022, where I fell in love with the ocean and it's unique treasures. Beachcombing quickly became my favorite ritual: wandering the shore, collecting seashells and seaglass, and finding peace in nature's simple gifts. The ocean healed me in a way I didn't know was possible.
What started as a hobby has grown into my greatest passion of transforming coastal finds into handcrafted art and jewelry that celebrates the sea's raw beauty and calm spirit. I'm always seeking out new beaches, near and far, gathering special pieces to create collections as unique as the places they come from.
